We are excited to welcome Blake H. Dava and Rachel M. Brown as Summer Law Clerks.

Blake is a rising 3L at the University of Oregon School of Law. Before law school, Blake worked as a screen and stage actor in Chicago, Illinois. In 2018, Blake earned dual degrees from Ohio University: a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications Journalism. In law school, Blake serves as the Operations Editor for the Oregon Law Review.

“Performance has always been one of my strengths, and I was fortunate to pursue acting professionally throughout my twenties. Over time, though, I found myself drawn to work that had more tangible impact. I picked up an LSAT prep book, and the rest is history. From the moment I started law school, I knew I wanted to advocate in the courtroom. I’m incredibly grateful to join Cosgrave’s outstanding team and am eagerly preparing for my next role: litigator.”

Rachel is a rising 3L at the University of Oregon School of Law. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University. She serves as an Executive Editor of the Oregon Law Review, worked as a Legal Research and Writing Tutor, and helped serve the local community as part of Oregon Law’s Nonprofit Clinic.

“Last summer, I had the opportunity to work at the Oregon Court of Appeals, where I witnessed the excellent end products produced by Oregon’s legal community. I quickly learned that I also wanted to get more hands-on experience helping cases develop from the beginning to the end. When looking at opportunities for this summer, I knew that Cosgrave’s environment and wide variety of practice areas would be the perfect place to help me gain the knowledge and practical experience needed to develop in my legal career.”
