Yesterday Attorneys Chester Hill and Amber Beyer presented to the Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business (IMA). Their presentation was titled “The Management Accountant’s Ethical Approach to Litigation: The Statement of Ethical Professional Practice and its Application to Litigation”. It focused on what plaintiffs, defendants, and expert witnesses can expect from a lawsuit, including what they wished their clients had known before they called with a problem.  This includes what to make sure is put in writing, how to make sure your recordkeeping is done in a way that makes discovery in litigation as efficient as possible, tips for giving deposition testimony and trial testimony, expectations in terms of how long litigation takes and how involved the client is in the process, etc.
