Law Practice:

Nate’s practice focuses on providing legal services to entrepreneurs, small businesses, and closely-held companies in areas such as business formation, contract drafting and negotiations, purchase and sale of assets, real estate, website terms of use and privacy policies, software license and development agreements, and general business representation. Nate works with clients in a variety of industries including software, technology, real estate, beverage and hospitality, professional services, manufacturing, and construction.

Nate has worked as outside and in-house counsel, and draws on his prior experience in litigation and dispute resolution to advise his clients on risk management and strategic legal planning.

Prior to joining the business practice group at Cosgrave, Nate was the Chief Legal Officer of a Portland-based online auto auction marketplace, and previously worked for two other Portland law firms where his practice focused on a mix of litigation and transaction work.

 

Education and Bar Admission:

Nate earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2002, and a JD/MBA degree from the University of Oregon in 2006. During law school, Nate was an Associate Editor of the Oregon Law Review from 2004-2006.

Nate is admitted to the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar, and the United States District Court of Oregon.

Professional:

Nate is a member of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network and the Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association.  He is a member of the Corporate Counsel Section, Business Law Section, Technology Law Section, Real Estate and Land Use Section, and Intellectual Property Section of the Oregon State Bar.

Civic:

Nate is a Board Member for SCRAP USA and is on the Advisory Council of the Oregon Golf Association.

Personal:

Nate is a diehard Green Bay Packers and Oregon Ducks fan, and enjoys cooking, home-improvement projects, playing golf, and exploring Portland and the Oregon wilderness with his wife and two young children.
