Law Practice

Amber is a litigation attorney whose practice focuses on transportation, legal malpractice, and general liability defense. She represents insurers, motor carriers, transportation companies, businesses, and professionals in personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, products liability, dram shop, and professional negligence cases.

In her transportation practice, Amber defends motor carriers, transportation companies, and insurers in personal injury, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death litigation involving commercial transportation and automobile-related claims. Her professional liability practice includes the defense of attorneys in legal malpractice matters arising from commercial and property disputes, estate-planning and probate matters, personal injury cases, and family law matters.

Amber represents clients throughout all stages of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation, and she has tried multiple cases to verdict in state court. Amber approaches litigation with a trial-ready mindset and works closely with clients and insurers to develop practical, efficient litigation strategies.

Representative Cases

Transportation Defense
  • Obtained favorable settlement in multi-million dollar case arising out of an accident with catastrophic injuries against defendant logging company.
  • Obtained favorable settlement mid-trial in personal injury case against defendant transportation company.
  • Obtained defense verdict in case alleging UIM exposure.
Legal Malpractice Defense
  • Obtained dismissal on summary judgement of case alleging breach of fiduciary duty against a court-appointed fiduciary.
  • Obtained favorable settlement in case alleging legal malpractice against former attorney for representation during probate administration.
  • Obtained dismissal on summary judgement in case alleging legal malpractice against former criminal defense attorney.
General Liability Defense
  • Following a four-day trial, obtained prayer for client on timber trespass claim and defense verdict of the opposing party’s nuisance claim.
  • Obtained a temporary restraining order, preliminary injunction, and summary judgement on behalf of a landowner in an adverse possession dispute.
  • Obtained dismissal based on lack of personal jurisdiction in an $18 million products liability and premises liability action.

Education & Bar Admissions

Amber graduated cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School. During law school, Amber interned with the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office where she tried three cases to verdict. Also during law school, Amber clerked with the Oregon Department of Justice, Financial Fraud and Consumer Protection Section. She also served as a Lead Article Editor with the Lewis & Clark Law Review.

Amber received her bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in Spanish from the University of Oregon, Robert D. Clark Honors College.

Amber is admitted to the Oregon State Bar, the Washington State Bar, and the United States District Court for the District of Oregon.

Professional

Amber is a member of the Multnomah Bar Association, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, and Oregon Women Lawyers. She also serves on the ALFA International Transportation Practice Group and Future Leaders Practice Group Steering Committees.

Personal

Outside of work, Amber enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, and experimenting with new gardening endeavors. She recently started a pumpkin patch that yielded a 300 lb. pumpkin and is hoping to beat it next year.
