Law Practice

Mike Lewton specializes in the litigation of personal injury and commercial cases, with an emphasis on complex litigation, professional malpractice, product and environmental liability, discrimination and sexual abuse. Mike also handles extra-contractual insurer liability and insurance fraud claims.

 

Education & Bar Admissions

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University in 1970, his master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Nevada in 1975, and his law degree from Willamette University in 1987. He also served in Vietnam in 1970-1971.

Mike is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar and State Bar of Nevada. He practices in both state and federal courts.

Professional

Mike is a member of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. He has served on the Oregon State Bar’s State Lawyer’s Assistance Committee and volunteers with the Oregon State Bar’s Military Assistance Program. He has also served on the Local Professional Responsibility and Client Security Fund Committees.

Mike speaks frequently to consumer groups and insurance companies and has taught classes in Elder Law. He also taught prospective arson investigators on how to give effective trial testimony.

Personal

When not engaged in legal work, Mike enjoys traveling with his wife, Gloria. He also enjoys making furniture and working in his yard. Mike is involved in church and civic activities and is willing to use his counseling and social work skills to help people in need.
