Josh joined Cosgrave as an associate attorney in 2016. He is a member of the firm’s complex torts practice group and construction practice group. His practice focuses on OSHA compliance, litigation, construction services, personal injuries, property damage, employment litigation, and general liability.
Prior to joining the firm, Josh represented insurers and self-insured employers in Oregon and Washington regarding administrative law matters, including workers’ compensation and OSHA.
After law school, Josh served as a Federal Law Clerk for the Honorable Bernard G. Skomal of the United States District Court, Southern District of California.
Education and Bar Admissions:
Josh received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego, School of Law in 2013. While in law school, Josh worked as a Law Clerk for the San Diego City Attorney’s Office and as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Jeffrey B. Barton of the San Diego Superior Court. Josh also served as Editor-in-Chief of the San Diego Journal of Climate & Energy Law. Josh received his B.S. in environmental science and resource management from California State University, Channel Islands, in 2009.
Josh was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2014 and the Washington State Bar in 2015.
Josh moved to Oregon from San Diego in 2014 with his wife, and native Oregonian, Kristin. Since then, Josh uses his free time to experience everything that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, including trips to the coast and hikes in the gorge with his wife and their dog. Josh also enjoys playing golf, snowboarding, and watching his favorite baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Josh’s wife is also a former City Councilor of Lake Oswego, so they both remain actively involved in the community, including the annual Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts.
